The Domaine sits in 148 acres of unspoilt meadows and woodland inhabited by deer and wild boar. You can expect to be lulled to sleep at night by the sound of owls. In the near distance are the Pyrenees which are clearly visible from the terrace and all the bedrooms.

Mirepoix, 3km from Domaine de Badia was built in the 10th century and is steeped in Cathar history. Simon de Montfort seized the main chateau in the town during the crusade against the Cathars in 1209. The central square of the town retains many medieval features and is the setting for a magnificent market which is held each Monday morning.

The City of Carcassonne including the UNESCO world heritage site The Medieval City and The Canal du Midi lie some 30 miles to the north east.

Carcassonne Salvaz airport is 44 kilometres (approx 40 minutes) drive away. Toulouse Blagnac airport is 105 kilometres (approx. 70 mins away).
